Delphinium

Delphinium is a popular garden perennial that provides intense midsummer color. The best known cultivars have striking blue flowers, but shades of pink, red, purple, white, and yellow can also be found. There are approximately 250 species in the genus and dozens of cultivars. They are attractive in the perennial border and make excellent cut flowers, but all parts of the plants are poisonous if ingested.
