Chenille plant (Acalypha hispida)

This species is native to southeast Asia but is grown worldwide as an ornamental. It blooms throughout the year with unusual, fuzzy stalks of bright-colored flowers. It is often grown as a houseplant, but it requires a sunny location for proper flowering. The chenille plant is at is best when planted outdoors in full sun in a tropical climate.
