Flossflower (Ageratum houstonianum)

The flossflower is a popular annual bedding plant for temperate gardens worldwide. It produces clusters of colorful, fuzzy flowers throughout the growing season. Many cultivars are available, ranging from light pink to deep violet. It grows well when massed together on the edges of flower beds, or in combinations with other annuals in containers.

Cultivation: Small to medium-sized annual for USDA hardiness zones 3 to 11. Grows best in full sun with moderate moisture.

Size: Reaches 6" to 2' (15 cm to 60 cm) tall with a spread of 9" to 18" (23 cm to 46 cm).

Flowering: Blooms from early summer through early fall.

Propagation: seeds.
