Mimosa tree (Albizia julibrissin)

Albizia is a diverse genus that is found throughout the subtropics and tropics. This species is the most cold tolerant of the genus, extending well into temperate regions where it adds an unusual, tropical flavor to the landscape. Although it is beautiful, it is invasive in many parts of the world including the middle-Atlantic and midwestern United States.
