Marguerite daisy (Argyranthemum frutescens)

Family: Asteraceae

Although it is native to northern Africa and the Canary Islands, this species has been cultivated in Europe for centuries. The natural species has white flower heads with yellow centers, but there are many cultivars of different colors. These include pink, magenta, and yellow. Double-flowered forms have also been developed. Usually grown as an annual, Argyranthemum frutescens can overwinter in the subtropics and tropics.
