Canna

Family: Cannaceae

Cannas are tropical plants that often find their way into temperate gardens. Their leaves are similar to those of the banana plant, a close relative. Most cultivars of Canna have bold, striking flowers. They are often grown as annuals in cold climates, but overwinter in the ground in subtropical or tropical climates.
