Fleabane (Erigeron)

Family: Asteraceae

Fleabanes are found throughout the world, but most are native to North America. The genus Erigeron includes about 200 species, including many cultivated ornamental plants. Most are easy to grow and tolerant of poor soil, but some have a tendency to become weedy. Several species are suitable for butterfly gardens, serving as a food source for larvae and a nectar source for adults. The leaves are aromatic and are believed to repel fleas.
