Freesias are grown for their colorful and highly fragrant flowers. They are easy, free-flowering perennials for the subtropics and tropical areas without intense summer heat. They are also popular as forced indoor bulbs. There are hundreds of cultivars of Freesia with a diversity of colors, all derived from species that are native to southern Africa.
