Carolina jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens)

Family: Gelsemiaceae

Carolina jessamine is a fast-growing ornamental vine that is native to southern North America and parts of Central America. It is a popular landscape plant within its native range and elsewhere in the world's warm temperate regions. Its fragrant, showy flowers open in the early springtime. Carolina jessamine is easy to grow with little care, bothered only by prolonged freezing temperatures. All parts are toxic if ingested, and the sap may cause skin irritation.
