Rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos)

Hibiscus moscheutos is native to the eastern United States, where it grows in sunny, wet areas. In the wild it has considerable variation in flower color, and many cultivated forms have also been developed. Some cultivars have especially large flowers, termed dinner plate Hibiscus. Flower colors vary from white to deep red, usually with a red center. All are easy to grow when ample moisture is available.
