Impatiens are among the most popular annual plants for temperate climates through the tropics. The are unmatched for their ability to add bursts of color to the annual garden. They tolerate a wide range of growing conditions in cooler climates but can wither in hot climates when exposed to full sun. A wide range of cultivars is available.

Cultivation: Small to medium-sized annual for USDA hardiness zones 3 to 11. Grows best in shade to full sun with moderate to high moisture. May be grown as a perennial in zones 10 to 11.

Size: Reaches 9" to 2' (23 cm to 60 cm) tall with a spread of 9" to 2' (23 cm to 60 cm).

Flowering: Blooms from early summer through early fall or year-round in zones 10 to 11.
