Iris is a large group of beautiful plants that are popular in gardens everywhere. There are approximately 200 Iris species and perhaps thousands of cultivars. The most popular are hybrids of Iris germanica, the bearded iris, which have been bred into an astonishing array of colors, shapes, and sizes. Most are easy to grow in temperate climates.
