Crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia)

Famous for its showstopping displays of flowers, the crape myrtle is also known for its attractive, peeling bark. Many different cultivars exist, and most are hybrids between Lagerstroemia indica and Lagerstroemia faurieri. Many have intensely colored flowers in shades of pink or magenta.
