Money plant (Lunaria annua)

Family: Brassicaceae

The money plant is an old-fashioned garden plant that remains popular worldwide. It is grown for its showy flowers and its attractive seed pods, which are commonly used in dried floral arrangements. Native to Europe, it has escaped from cultivation in Asia and North America. Lunaria annua self-seeds readily and may be difficult to control or eradicate once established. It is reported to be a threat to native vegetation in some areas.
