Pelargonium has been the subject of intensive, artificial selection and hybridization for centuries. The result is a dazzling array of cultivars that vary in almost every aspect imaginable. There is great diversity in the flower colors, sizes, and shapes. The foliage also varies widely, in coloration, shape, size, and fragrance. Pelargoniums are very popular as annuals and can also be grown indoors or in subtropical to tropical climates.
