Moth orchid (Phalaenopsis)

Family: Orchidaceae

The world's most familiar orchid, Phalenopsis is grown widely as a spectacular specimen plant. As an epiphyte it requires special care, including frequent misting and good air circulation. Many cultivars with interesting patterns of coloration are available. The flowers are unusually long-lived, persisting for months.
