Sempervivum is a genus of succulent plants that are popular in gardens worldwide. Native to Eurasia and North Africa, they have a long history of cultivation and a wide range of uses. Sempvervivum plants thrive in well-drained locations, including rock gardens, but are adaptable to a wide range of conditions. Many cultivars are available with a range of shapes, sizes, and coloration. Most belong to Sempervivum tectorum, but other species have also been bred in cultivation.
