Marigold (Tagetes)

The marigold is one of the world's most popular annual bedding plants. They are easy to grow and flower throughout the summer. There are many different species of Tagetes with showy flowers, but the marigolds that are commercially available are hybrids and selected cultivars. These vary in size and in flower shape and color.

Cultivation: Small to medium-sized annual for USDA hardiness zones 3 to 10. Grows best in full sun with moderate moisture.

Size: Reaches 6" to 3' (15 cm to 90 cm) tall with a spread of 6" to 2' (15 cm to 60 cm).

Flowering: Blooms from early summer through early fall.

Propagation: seeds.
